Blueberry pie!

Hey guys,

So here we have the tutorial on.................

How to make a sweet blueberry pie!

    The things you will need:

  •    A knife or blade
  • Flesh coloured clay
  • Dark blue or blueberry coloured clay
  • A bottle cap from beer or juice
  • Chalk pastels in bakey tones, I used orange, yellow and a sienna colour.
  • Something to apply the chalk, like a paintbrush. I got mine from a Klutz book, Stencil art and its like a dabber thing-ma-jig.....

 1. Roll your flesh clay into a ball, then flatten it into the cap, having a dip in the centre and a crust on the sides like a realistic pie.

2.Get your blue clay and start rolling it into tiny little blueberries. You will need A LOT. I AM WARNING YOU NOW. YOU NEED PATIENCE. It took me maybe an hour and a half, with food, toilet and patience breaks....
YOUR SO CLOSE! You can do it!!!!
This is nearly finished.

 3. Get your chalk pastels and brush around the edges of the pie to give it a baked look, being careful not to disturb your blueberries that you worked so hard on.
4. Now for the lattice that goes on top. Roll some flesh clay out nice and flat. Cut out thin strips of the clay. You will need 6 of the strips.

 5. WEAVING. To weave, get three of your strips and lay them out next to each other. Get one of your other strips, and place it on top of the first strip. Then weave it under the middle strip, then back on top of the last strip. Continue this until you run out. It should end up something like this:

Get your pastels again and brush the top of the lattice to look like its been baked. I brushed a little bit more of the brown on the top than I did on the strips on the bottom, so it gives the appearance of the top crust being browned a little more.

6. Place your lattice on top of your pie. You can use the edges of the cap to cut off any excess clay. Add in any blueberries that you would like, or to move the pastry to your liking. You can add any more shading to make it look realistic. But, well done! You made the blueberry pie! And now, you can make any other berry pie you would like! Strawberry, boysenberry, raspberry, anything! Have fun!

Martha Mulberry likes making the pies.... :)
