The ROBE!

Hey everyone!

So here we have the second tutorial! It is how to make a Sylvanian robe/pullover thingamajig!!

Here it is!

I hope you like it? We have our proud model Maria Butterglove all nice and snuggly in the robe...

She likes it because it has a hole for her tail so that it is not uncomfortable for the likes of rabbits...

To make this robe, you will need:

  1. A figure
  2. Fabric Scissors
  3. Soft fleece
  4. A pen or pencil or fabric pen, it doesn't really matter.
  5. A sewing machine or needle and thread - Not pictured-

STEP 1.

Cut out a square of fabric, and, I didn't actually measure my square, but cut one out and see, mine didn't work that well, so you might need bigger or smaller depending... And also, you need to have clean edges (mostly) in this square.

 STEP 2.

Fold the tips of the square down to a triangle, like this...

Make sure there is some overlap so that it reaches across the figure.

STEP 3.

Place your figure onto the fabric.

Lay the figure straight down and if it has a tail, like a bushy one, try to lay them down as front facing as you can.

Make sure that the neck of your figure is on the top of the triangle!!

STEP 4.

Sorry about this picture being sideways, but,
draw around your figure, you want the shape of their legs, and arms. Try get it so it looks something like this:
STEP 5.

Using your sewing machine or needle and thread, sew along the lines that go down, or the line you drew under the sylvanians armpit.

Once you carefully cut it out, being careful not to cut the lines you just sewed, it should look something like this:

Then, turn it inside out, carefully, so that the lines you drew in pen are on the inside, so you can't see them! :)

And there you go! You've made your on little dressing gown!!!

Except, I came into a little complication when I put it on and realised how short it was up the front. It was showing skin!!!

But it was normal length on the back. So I was like, what???

So, I decided to turn it into a little fancy shawl/ pull over jacket!!

I put the clothes back on my person, and look how cute it looks!

It looks like she's going out, maybe to the movies, or maybe going to a quaint little restaurant for dinner!!!!
So yeah, play around with the size. It should fit with any size figure, except it would be kinda hard for the baby... But then again anythings hard when you're making clothes for babies!!!!

And just remember, I wasn't good my first time making this. So if you stuff up, don't worry. Keep going.

This was my first attempt. My figure couldn't even put their arm through the arm hole!! It also couldn't reach around to the other side, it stopped about halfway around her back. Also, its fluro orange. So. If you stuff up, it is all right.

I hope you liked this tutorial!!!

Have fun giving it your own twist!!

More of these will be up soon, promise.

Lucy :)
